Since 1965, the Hinckley Institute’s world-renowned internship program has been connecting students of all majors to transformative internship experiences. With opportunities to intern locally, with the Utah legislature, in Washington, DC, and in over 50 countries around the globe, the ideal experience is available to every student.
Students must register for a minimum of 3 credit hours of HNKLY credit and can determine how the credit will apply towards their degree with their academic advisor. Students may intern one semester after graduation, but they must still register for credit.
The Hinckley Institute will forward your name to the University of Utah Student Conduct Office for review. While the existence of past sanctions is not necessarily grounds for disqualification, it is taken into account during the pre-decision process for all Hinckley Internships and provided to any third party entities associated with your program that request your conduct record. If there are questions or concerns about your review, you will be contacted through u-mail. Hinckley will mark this requirement as complete after your conduct record has been approved by the University of Utah Student Conduct Office. After you submit your application, you will receive an email to set up an interview with global program manager, Jean Oh.
